Spirit fish

Across the high plateaus and mountain valleys of what is now Utah, the Ute people lived in harmony with rivers, streams, and sacred springs. These waters were vital, not only as sources of drinking water but also as centers of spiritual power and life. Among the Ute, certain springs were considered especially sacred. It was said that spirit fish lived
